Power Supply Control and Base Requirements for Centrifugal Fans

During the installation of centrifugal fans, the steel frame must be secured to a concrete foundation, with porous vibration-damping rubber pads placed between the steel frame and the concrete foundation. The base of the centrifugal fan must be level and secure; to prevent body vibration, flexible hoses made of non-combustible materials must be used. To prevent the flexible duct from being sucked into the fan during operation, the cross-sectional dimensions of the duct must be reduced to avoid the weight of the duct being accumulated by the fan. 1. Centrifugal fans can be started at full voltage or low voltage; however, please note that the current during a full-voltage start is approximately 5 to 7 times the rated current, whilst the starting torque at low voltage is proportional to the square of the voltage. If the grid capacity is insufficient, a reduced-voltage start must be employed. 2. When commissioning a centrifugal fan, read the product manual carefully to ensure that the wiring method matches the wiring diagram. Please carefully verify that the operating voltage supplied by the fan’s power source meets the requirements and that there is no phase deviation. Check that the capacity of the phase and distribution components meets the requirements. 3. During trial operation, ensure there are at least two people present: one to control the power supply and the other to monitor the operation of the centrifugal fan. Stop the unit immediately to check for any abnormalities. First, verify that the direction of rotation is correct. Once the centrifugal fan has started operating, immediately check whether the operating currents in each phase are balanced and whether the current exceeds the rated value. Stop the unit immediately if any abnormalities occur. After running for 5 minutes, stop the unit to check for any abnormalities. Only restart the unit after confirming that there are no issues. When commissioning the centrifugal fan, start at low speed and verify that the direction of rotation is correct. When starting at high speed, to prevent damage caused by motor drag or high-speed reversal, the centrifugal fan must be stopped before starting. Once the centrifugal fan has reached normal speed, measure its input current. The operating current of the centrifugal fan must not exceed the rated current. If the operating current exceeds the rated current, check that the supply voltage is normal. The power required by the centrifugal fan’s motor is relatively high under specific operating conditions, particularly when the air inlet is fully open. Due to operational factors, the motor may be damaged during trial operation if the air inlet is fully open. The valves on the inlet or outlet ducts of the centrifugal fan must be closed at all times; after starting, open the valves gradually until the necessary operating conditions are met. The operating current of the centrifugal fan is the rated current.
