Correct installation is essential for the stable operation of smoke extraction axial fans; therefore, the installation process must not be overlooked. The installation guidelines for smoke extraction axial fans are set out below for reference. The installation location and dimensions of smoke extraction axial fans are usually provided in the drawings for reference. To ensure the high efficiency of the smoke extraction axial fan, it is essential to verify that the clearance between the air inlet and the impeller is appropriate. As smoke extraction axial fans are driven by V-belts, the V-belt on the main shaft must align with the motor’s V-belt pulley and be protected by a safety guard. However, where a centrifugal fan is fitted with a coupling, the misalignment between the two ends of the coupling must not exceed 0.05 mm. Once the gearbox assembly has been installed, the adjustment damper for the smoke extraction axial fan must be fitted. Although this is a relatively simple procedure, care must be taken to ensure it is not installed upside down, so that the direction of the air inlet aligns with the direction of rotation of the impeller. After all components of the smoke extraction axial fan have been installed, a trial run and inspection must be carried out as shown below. Adjustments must be made should any abnormalities occur.
