The operation of stainless steel industrial fans relies on bearings to drive the components, so bearings play a crucial role in these fans. To ensure smooth bearing operation, lubricating oil is typically applied. Over time, dust accumulates in the lubricating oil, forming a sticky substance that impairs bearing performance. At this point, cleaning is necessary If the bearings of a stainless steel industrial fan are contaminated with stains, sand, dust, or other debris, remove the bearings from the shaft and immerse them in detergent or hot oil for cleaning. The cleaning agents referred to here are solvents such as pure benzene, mineral spirits, carbon tetrachloride, and kerosene, which have the ability to dissolve grease. The first three are highly volatile, and pure benzene and gasoline are flammable. When using these solvents, ensure the oil temperature remains between 60–100°C. Place a layer of copper mesh over the oil bath to prevent debris from the bottom of the container from contaminating the bearings. Stainless steel industrial fan bearings are difficult to clean. Soak them for at least 3–4 hours before cleaning. Once the grease has softened, wash the bearings repeatedly with clean detergent until all residue is removed. If the cleaning agent is highly volatile, the bearings removed from the solution may evaporate on their own. If not, rinse them several times with clean, diluted lubricating oil to remove all traces of the cleaning agent. When cleaning centrifugal bearings, pay attention to the following points. 1.1. Spray chili oil onto the bearing or soak it in an oil bath. To prevent the bearing steel from tempering and losing hardness, the oil temperature must not exceed 100°C. 2.2. When starting the cleaning process, do not rotate the bearing rapidly to avoid impurities inside the bearing scratching the rolling surfaces. 3.3. Do not wipe the bearings with cotton thread. Instead, use a clean cloth to prevent fibers from entering the bearings. 4.4. After cleaning the bearings, do not touch them with your bare hands. Even a small amount of sweat from your fingers can cause the bearings to rust. It is recommended to wear gloves or wrap the bearings in a clean white cloth or paper before handling them. 5.5. If the cleaned bearings will not be used immediately, wrap them in grease-coated paper and unwrap them just before use. The operation of stainless steel industrial fans is inseparable from the performance of the bearings; therefore, when cleaning the bearings, take care to protect them to prevent damage that could affect the operational efficiency of the fan. Check the hardness of the oil bath to ensure it meets the required specifications.
