Effective Prevention of Gas Leaks in Forward-Curved Centrifugal Fans

In most cases, forward-curved centrifugal fans are used. To prevent gas leaks, appropriate measures must be taken. One approach involves disassembling the fan housing, removing the impeller and moving parts, and installing new mechanical seals. The advantage of this method is the ability to select new types of seals and installation specifications; the disadvantage is that it involves a heavy workload and is time-consuming. Alternatively, a simple sealing gasket can be added without disassembling the forward-curved centrifugal fan. Each gasket consists of a housing section, two compression components, and four semicircular workpieces. The two workpieces feature markings corresponding to the housing. The grooves on the shaft facing the bearing housing are welded to the ring. The drive shaft is also covered by two semicircular workpieces without housing markings. The grooves are welded to the housing to form a circular ring. The drive shaft passes through the two rings. The grooves face each other in opposite directions. Note the interlocking weld between the outer cover and the marked ring, as well as the clearance between the inner ring and the drive shaft. Weld the hexagonal heads of the two pressure block bolts. One end of the pressure block cuts the gasket along the ring, wraps around the ring groove, and tightens the clamping nut. To ensure one end is pressed into place, tighten the component ring and correctly install the recommended seasoning sticker. This method requires processing the workpiece only during the initial stage. Since subsequent installation work is minimal, it is suitable for forward-curved centrifugal fans that do not require sealing. This applies to forward-curved centrifugal fans during the redesign or manufacturing phase. Following specific applications, our department will refer to the above method for improvements.
