Cut off the power supply and hang warning tags before replacement. Do not start the fan until it comes to a complete standstill. Two workers are required for the operation to guarantee sufficient on-site lighting.
Use a suitable box-end wrench (preferred) or open-end wrench to loosen the four positioning bolts on the motor base.
Loosen the fixing part of the jack bolt near the fan side, then adjust the jack bolt on the opposite side of the motor to reduce the center distance between the fan pulley and motor pulley.
If the motor is equipped with two belts, remove the outer belt from the smaller pulley first. Place three fingers under the lower side of the belt, pry the belt gently, rotate the pulley clockwise and push outward to detach the belt; shift the inner belt inward afterward.
It is forbidden for two people to perform disassembly simultaneously. One person shall conduct the operation while another acts as on-site supervisor.
During installation, fit each belt onto pulleys of matching size one by one by pushing the lower part of the belt with fingers.
Adjust belt tension afterwards: loosen the adjusting bolt on the side away from the fan, keep the adjusting bolt near the fan fixed, and turn the upper jack bolt to gradually increase the center distance between two pulleys.
After belt installation, align the two pulleys on the same plane with a straight steel wire for calibration. The inspection method is as follows: stretch the steel wire across the outermost edge of both pulleys. If a gap exists between the steel wire and belt surface, keep adjusting until the steel wire fits tightly against both pulleys without clearance.
