Introduction to High-Pressure Axial-Flow Fans

1. High-Pressure Axial-Flow Fans: High-pressure axial-flow fans are machines that drive fluids, using mechanical energy input to increase gas pressure and discharge the gas for transportation. High-pressure axial-flow fans are widely used in factories, mines, tunnels, cooling towers, vehicles, ships, and buildings for ventilation, dust removal, and cooling. They are also used for ventilation in boilers and industrial furnaces; cooling and ventilation in air conditioning equipment and household appliances; grain drying and distribution; and as an air source and aeration propulsion in Hobakaf wind tunnels. 2. Operating Principle of High-Pressure Axial-Flow Fans: Based on the principle of converting kinetic energy into potential energy, high-pressure axial-flow fans use a high-speed rotating impeller to accelerate the gas, then decelerate it and change its flow direction, thereby converting kinetic energy into potential energy (pressure). In a high-pressure axial fan, gas enters the impeller axially; after passing through the impeller, it changes direction radially and enters the diffuser. In the diffuser, the gas changes direction, and the increase in duct cross-sectional area slows the gas flow, converting kinetic energy into pressure energy. The pressure increase primarily occurs in the impeller, after which the diffusion process continues. In high-pressure axial flow fans, a counterflow configuration is used to direct air into the lower impeller, thereby generating higher pressure. 3. The function of a high-pressure axial flow fan is essentially the same as that of a turbo compressor. This is because the gas flow rate is low and the pressure change is small. Generally, it is not necessary to consider changes in the specific volume of the gas. In other words, the gas is treated as an incompressible fluid. 4. Construction of High-Pressure Axial-Flow Fans: High-pressure axial-flow fans consist of a housing, main shaft, impeller, bearing and drive mechanism, and motor. Housing: Made of steel plate, it is sturdy and reliable. It comes in integral and semi-open types; the semi-open type is designed for ease of maintenance. Impeller: Consists of blades, a curved front disc, and a flat rear disc. Rotor: To ensure smooth rotation and excellent performance, both dynamic and static balancing are required. Transmission components: Main shaft, gearbox, rolling bearings, and pulley (or coupling). High-pressure axial fans are available in both forward-flow and backward-flow configurations.
