How to Select Centrifugal Fans and Install Coils? Centrifugal fan equipment is widely adopted in many locations today. While the working principle of this type of fan is well-known—it relies on mechanical energy to increase air pressure for ventilation—how should one go about selecting such equipment? Additionally, what about the installation of fan coil units? Let's review the guidance provided by centrifugal fan manufacturers' customer service.

When purchasing fans, carefully consider the placement of the base air outlet to avoid the hassle of relocating it after installation. Simultaneously, plan for both external and internal motor configurations. Communicate these requirements to the manufacturer for assistance in planning. Before selection, understand the production and quality standards of domestic centrifugal fans, including product variety, specifications, specialized applications, and new product development. Environmental requirements should also be fully considered to ensure appropriate fan selection.

Specify to the manufacturer whether the reducer is included and whether the vibration-damping base is E-type, D-type, or C-type with uniform belts. Provide the manufacturer with the rotation direction, outlet angle, and transmission mode. These details should be marked as precisely as possible. When designing fans, manufacturers typically use galvanized sheet metal ductwork. If customers require composite materials like glass-magnesium, they must provide specific requirements to the manufacturer.

When purchasing centrifugal fans from the factory, inquire in advance whether the seller provides accessories such as silencer boxes, mufflers, flexible connectors, elbows, rain curtains, insect screens, and flanges. Also inquire whether vibration dampers are floor-mounted or suspended to purchase accordingly. Thoroughly test the air outlet positioning during purchase to avoid troubleshooting after installation. Simultaneously, consider designing external and internal motors. Communicate all these details to the turbine manufacturer for planning assistance.

When purchasing, clearly specify to the manufacturer the required centrifugal fan's name, specifications, model, and performance parameters such as rotational speed, power, air pressure, and airflow volume based on your actual conditions. Pay attention to its voltage. Generally, manufacturers set the voltage to 380V for production equipment. If special requirements exist, inform the manufacturer in advance.

Survey the installation location and clearly describe the working environment and usage methods to the manufacturer. Manufacturers will typically provide optimal matching solutions based on these conditions.   Two scenarios require attention when purchasing centrifugal fans:   First, selecting a model similar to your actual requirements based on your specific needs.   Second, when ordering custom centrifugal fans from a factory, begin by providing the manufacturer with comparable conditions—such as your own requirements, operating environment, and functional needs—to enable them to design a satisfactory solution.

You may draft a preliminary sketch of a sound-absorbing plenum box yourself. Clearly specify to the manufacturer whether the multi-leaf outlet is normally open or closed, the required shape of the louvered outlet, and any additional functionalities needed.  Have you mastered the eleven key considerations for selecting centrifugal fans? To streamline future operations and enhance efficiency, it's advisable to evaluate centrifugal fans comprehensively across multiple dimensions.  Are there installation diagrams for coil fans and water pipes? Centrifugal fans should be installed either exposed or concealed based on the building's specific conditions and interior design specifications, with precise placement and mounting methods defined. Vertical generator sets are typically placed beneath wall balconies; suspended units are mounted at the upper portion of the building; wall-mounted units are positioned above walls; floor-standing units are placed on the ground or within partition walls adjacent to walls; and three-in-one units are recessed into suspended ceilings.

Surface-mounted generator sets should be placed in the room immediately without requiring renovation design, but units with exterior colors that coordinate with the room's color scheme should be selected; Ground-mounted generator sets should incorporate positive pressure supply air inlets and outlets that integrate with the building's decorative design. Supply air outlets must be equipped with exhaust filters. Additionally, building renovations should include removable or accessible maintenance access panels to facilitate disassembly and servicing of the generator set's centrifugal fan, motor, and clean air heat exchanger.

Currently, vertically installed generator sets are mostly concealed on building rooftops, employing two exhaust methods: side-down exhaust from the top of the supply box.  If side-supply is chosen, low-negative-pressure fans may be used, with the generator set's inlet and outlet directly connected to two layers of louvered vents. If ceiling-down exhaust is selected, high-negative-pressure centrifugal fans should be employed. The positive pressure supply outlet of the generator set can be connected to a ventilation duct linked to multiple diffusers for downward exhaust. For vertically buried generator sets, two supply methods exist: installing louvers or other outlets with airflow filters within the ceiling cavity to receive air from the generator's return air box via ductwork; or omitting ductwork, allowing indoor air quality to enter the ceiling cavity and be drawn in by the generator set mounted there.  Additionally, when using centrifugal fans, pay attention to the building's noise control regulations.
