Precautions for Commissioning High-Pressure Centrifugal Exhaust Fans

Precautions for Commissioning High-Pressure Centrifugal Exhaust Fans High-pressure centrifugal exhaust fans have long been favored by many users. However, to fully leverage their superior performance, commissioning must be completed according to requirements before use. Below we briefly outline key considerations regarding this process, hoping to assist you. High-pressure centrifugal exhaust fans generally refer to equipment handling media temperatures exceeding 250°C. Due to their distinct performance characteristics compared to standard fans, extra caution is required during trial operation. First, during commissioning, special attention must be paid to protecting the motor to prevent overload damage. Typically, since these fans are designed for high-temperature media, both the required motor power and internal power are calculated based on high-temperature conditions. However, during trial operation, ambient temperatures are normal, resulting in higher air density and consequently greater motor load. Therefore, high-pressure centrifugal exhaust fans should employ variable-frequency low-frequency starting rather than direct starting. If no variable-frequency drive is available, the inlet damper must be fully closed during direct starting. Simultaneously, during startup, on-site personnel must closely monitor the fan's operational status, particularly observing motor current. Using an electrical cabinet equipped with motor protection or overload protection is also recommended to prevent motor overload. Furthermore, wind pressure parameters obtained during trial operation may differ from design specifications. This discrepancy arises because medium temperature effects cause measured wind pressure during testing to significantly exceed design values. Consequently, such readings should not be considered conclusive for trial operation conclusions. Additionally, during trial operation of high-pressure centrifugal exhaust fans, cooling water need not be connected to the drive components. However, appropriate lubricating oil must be added.
