Components of Centrifugal Explosion-Proof Fans
Regardless of type, all fans consist of a casing, rotor, stator, bearings, seals, lubrication, and cooling systems. The rotor of a centrifugal explosion-proof fan includes the main shaft, impeller, coupling, shaft sleeve, and balancing plate. The stator comprises the partition plate, seals, inlet chamber, diffuser on the partition plate, flow passages, and return flow device. Some fans incorporate gas guide devices ahead of the impeller assembly.
I. Centrifugal Explosion-Proof Fans
Centrifugal fans feature multiple structural configurations based on application requirements.
(1) Centrifugal explosion-proof fans can be manufactured as right-hand or left-hand types with differing rotation directions. Viewed from the drive end, clockwise impeller rotation denotes right-hand type, denoted as "R." The opposite is counterclockwise rotation, denoted as "left."
(2) Structural Types with Different Air Inlet Directions
Centrifugal explosion-proof fans feature two air inlet configurations: single-side inlet and double-side inlet.
Single-suction fans include single-stage and double-stage impellers. Under equivalent conditions, a double-stage impeller generates twice the pressure of a single-stage impeller.
(3) Different Structural Types Based on Drive Side
Centrifugal fans employ various drive methods depending on operating conditions. If the fan speed matches the motor speed, the explosion-proof centrifugal fan can be directly driven by the motor via a coupling, with the impeller mounted directly on the motor shaft. If speeds differ, a pulley system can be used for speed variation. Numerous other transmission methods also exist.
Centrifugal explosion-proof fans can be categorized by pressure into high-pressure, medium-pressure, and low-pressure types; by application into standard, explosion-proof, corrosion-resistant, and suction models; and by material into ordinary steel, stainless steel, plastic, Boron steel, etc. Centrifugal fan specifications comprise six elements: name, model, frame size, transmission method, rotation direction, and outlet position.
