How to Commission a Centrifugal Fan to Optimal Condition

1 (38)To commission a high-temperature-resistant stainless steel centrifugal fan to optimal condition, the following procedures must be performed. 1. The high-temperature-resistant stainless steel centrifugal fan can be started at full voltage or operated with reduced voltage. However, the starting current at full voltage is approximately 5 to 7 times the rated current, while the torque during reduced-voltage starting is proportional to the square of the rated current. Voltage reduction starting is required when system capacity is insufficient. 2. During commissioning, carefully review the product manual to verify wiring methods match the wiring diagram. Confirm that the operating voltage supplied to the fan meets requirements, power phase alignment is correct, and the capacity of the distributor assembly satisfies specifications. 3. During trial operation of the high-temperature resistant stainless steel centrifugal fan, have at least two personnel present: one to control the power supply and another to observe the fan's operation and stop it immediately if any abnormalities are detected. Verify correct rotation direction. After the centrifugal fan begins rotating, check if the operating currents of each phase are balanced and above the rated current. Stop immediately if abnormalities occur. After running for 5 minutes, stop the machine to confirm no issues before restarting. 4. During commissioning, start the high-temperature resistant stainless steel centrifugal fan at low speed to verify rotation direction. For high-speed startup, ensure the fan has completely stopped before restarting to prevent switch failure or motor damage from high-speed reversal. 5. When the high-temperature resistant stainless steel centrifugal fan reaches normal speed, measure the input current to confirm it is within normal range. The operating current must not exceed the rated current. If the operating current exceeds the rated value, verify the power supply voltage is normal. 6. For high-temperature stainless steel centrifugal fans and air ducts, fully opening the air inlet requires significantly higher power. Opening the air inlet completely may damage the motor. During trial operation of the high-temperature stainless steel centrifugal fan, close the inlet and outlet pipeline valves. After starting, gradually open the valves until reaching the required operating conditions. Monitor whether the fan's operating current exceeds the rated current.
