Introduction to Arc-Cut Blades for Stainless Steel Industrial Fans

Introduction to Arc-Cut Blades for Stainless Steel Industrial Fans1 (38)Arc-cut blades are relatively simple to manufacture but have limited flow characteristics, making them rarely used in stainless steel industrial fans. However, with ongoing research, certain arc-cut blade designs may achieve over 85% of the total pressure efficiency of the entire machine. Let's examine this aspect further. Arc blades offer advantages of simple machining and low cost, leading to widespread past adoption. They were later gradually replaced by other blade structures. Subsequently, several stainless steel industrial fans were selected to compare overall performance between arc blades and commonly used blades with equivalent expansion angles. This re-examined the performance of arc blades. For the stainless steel industrial fan setup, among four fan configurations, one utilized arc blades while three employed equivalent expansion-angle flow blades. Without altering the entire machine, only the blade shape was changed. Numerical simulations were conducted to compare the performance predictions of the two wind turbines. First, understand the parameter formula for arc blades. The parameters of the arc blade can be determined when the inlet and outlet diameters of the stainless steel industrial fan propeller are D1 and D2, respectively, and the inlet and outlet angles are β1 and β2, respectively. Arc blades come in two forms: convex and concave. In other words, the blade contour can only be determined by specifying the center and radius of the arc blade. In summary, specific research and analysis results indicate that ordinary blades using the same expansion angle flow pattern as arc blades were employed to perform numerical predictions and comparisons of the performance of several different types of stainless steel industrial fans. The results show that the performance of fans with convex arc blades is equivalent to that of fans with the same expansion angle, while the performance of fans with concave arc blades is significantly lower than that of fans with the same expansion angle.
