Methods for Controlling Noise in High-Pressure Centrifugal Fans

When using high-pressure centrifugal fan units, users are often very concerned about noise. In fact, the noise from these units primarily stems from two sources: airborne noise and mechanical noise. In comparison, the former has a higher noise intensity and is the primary source of noise. So, are there methods to control noise in high-pressure centrifugal fans? To address this issue, several aspects can be considered. First, greater attention should be paid to selecting fans with lower noise levels. Of course, it is essential to confirm that the selected equipment meets standard operating conditions. The second key point is to optimize the machine’s structural design as much as possible. This also has a certain effect on reducing operational noise. Additionally, noise issues can be controlled through soundproofing. It is understood that high-pressure centrifugal fans generate significant airborne noise when operating at high speeds. To prevent sound from spreading outward while allowing airflow to pass normally, installing silencers in the machine’s airflow passages can significantly reduce both the noise generated by the high-pressure centrifugal fan itself and the airborne noise from the ductwork. Furthermore, implementing sound insulation measures can mitigate the adverse effects of noise. This is a common practice in modern industrial settings. The primary approach involves using various wall panels and components as barriers, or employing structural enclosures, to control the noise from high-pressure centrifugal fans within a certain range, preventing noise from spreading through the air and achieving effective noise reduction. One method of noise control is sound absorption. Specifically, when the high-pressure centrifugal fan is in operation, installing sound-absorbing materials and structures on walls and ceilings, or suspending acoustic panels directly in the space, can suppress the propagation of noise.
