I don’t know if you’ve ever heard of explosion-proof axial flow fans. Essentially, this device can be regarded as a variable-flow, constant-pressure unit. In fact, the operating principle of this explosion-proof axial flow fan is essentially the same as that of a turbo compressor. However, in the operation of multi-blade explosion-proof axial flow fans, due to the relatively low airflow, pressure changes are not significant. Therefore, when using multi-blade explosion-proof axial flow fans, changes in the specific volume of the gas typically do not need to be considered. In other words, the gas can be treated directly as an incompressible fluid. At a fixed speed, the theoretical pressure-flow curve of the unit should be a straight line. However, the actual characteristic curve is curved due to certain losses. Those who have used this type of multi-blade explosion-proof axial fan should know that the pressure generated by the equipment is greatly affected by changes in inlet temperature and density. If a specific inlet flow rate is specified, the pressure will be lower due to the gas temperature. In other words, the characteristic curve for a specific pressure and flow corresponds to the characteristic curve for power and flow. Therefore, when a multi-blade explosion-proof axial fan operates continuously at a constant speed, the power required increases as the intake temperature decreases, assuming the flow rate remains constant. So, what are the applications of this equipment? Currently, explosion-proof axial fans are widely used in various industries, including factory, mine, and tunnel ventilation, dust removal, and cooling. Additionally, they can be used as ventilation and induction draft devices for boilers and industrial applications.
