There are many causes of vibration in rotating machinery. Let’s take a look at the causes of vibration in centrifugal fans. It is important to note that if the shaft bends during operation or for any other reason, it is impossible to fully correct and straighten it—that is, if the shaft is bent, it cannot be straightened 100%. Therefore, the best solution is to replace the shaft. 5. Pulsations When the Inlet Valve Closes When the inlet valve closes, the impeller blades are subjected to an impact. This impact causes vibration, and the load is transmitted through the anchor bolts; the shaft and impeller blades, combined with this shocking impact load, may damage the fasteners and cause vibration. 6. Excessive Vibration Despite Careful Impeller Balancing If vibration is still observed even though the impeller is balanced, the only possible causes are those discussed earlier, and there may also be an issue with misaligned pulleys.
