A large amount of dust is generated during rock excavation in tunnel and mining operations, coupled with confined working spaces. Under such circumstances, SDZ cabinet centrifugal fans are mandatory to guarantee the safety of construction personnel. These fans facilitate air circulation and prevent dust from endangering workers’ health. Nevertheless, various problems may still occur during fan operation. This article introduces solutions to resolve excessive pressure and dust accumulation for the fan unit.
Excessively high pressure of the SDZ cabinet centrifugal fan will trigger adverse consequences including drastic temperature fluctuation and degraded exhaust performance, making it difficult to maintain a favorable production and operating environment. Accordingly, most manufacturers of SDZ cabinet centrifugal fans equip auxiliary components for pressure reduction.
Furthermore, pressure deviation is a common issue for SDZ cabinet centrifugal fans, which should be addressed primarily by regulating the operating pressure range. Proper pressure regulation can effectively secure satisfactory operating performance.
Pressure relief valves (unloading valves) are widely adopted to precisely control the pressure of SDZ cabinet centrifugal fans. When the operating pressure of the fan exceeds the preset value of the pressure relief valve, the valve opens automatically to discharge excess pressure, which also serves to protect the fan itself.
Dust generation conditions vary subject to differences in manufacturing quality of SDZ cabinet centrifugal fans. For harsh operating environments, the fan shall be fitted with both pressure relief valves and filters, and filter elements with different filtration precision shall be selected according to actual application sites.
Different types of filter elements require differentiated maintenance schemes and feature distinct service lives. To maximize filtering efficiency and protect the SDZ cabinet centrifugal fan, matching filter elements must be selected correctly. In addition, if structural assemblies are designed for fan pressure relief, heat dissipation measures shall be implemented to prevent damage caused by temperature rise and improve the overall service quality of the SDZ cabinet centrifugal fan.
