Daily Operation and Maintenance Tips for Stainless Steel Fan Units

Many factories use stainless steel fan units, and demand for them is growing day by day. So, how should stainless steel fan units be maintained? Let’s take a look together with the author today. (1) While the stainless steel packaged fan is in operation, regularly check the inlet and outlet pressures and temperatures, as well as the pressure and temperature of the cooling water or oil, and the pressure differential across the air filter. Take daily readings, record them, and analyze and compare the data. (2) Clean and inspect the air filter regularly to ensure it is functioning properly. (3) Be mindful of how inlet air temperature affects the operating conditions of the stainless steel packaged fan (centrifugal)—including exhaust flow, operating load and output, and the likelihood of surges. Furthermore, to ensure safe and stable operation of the fan and to mitigate the impact of fluctuating inlet air temperatures on volumetric flow rate and operating load, adjust the throttle device on the intake guide vane or butterfly valve as needed. (4) Pay close attention to the unit’s operating noise and bearing vibration. Listen regularly, take appropriate measures, and if necessary, stop the unit for inspection to identify the cause and resolve the malfunction. (5) Operating the stainless steel fan unit in areas with explosive atmospheres is strictly prohibited. (6) Inspect and maintain the motor or gearbox according to the manual’s requirements. (7) Change the engine oil after startup. If the replaced engine oil has deteriorated, it may be reused after passing through a filter. An oil sample analysis should be conducted 500 hours after the first startup, and another analysis should be performed in the second month. If the oil has deteriorated, replace it immediately. The oil grade must comply with specifications; the use of other brands of oil is strictly prohibited. (8) Check the oil level in the fuel tank above the “Lambda” mark to confirm that the oil pressure is normal. Frequently check the oil temperature at the bearing outlet; it must not exceed 50°C. Adjust the amount of coolant in the oil cooler as needed to maintain the oil temperature between 30°C and 40°C before it enters the bearings. (9) Clean the oil filter regularly. Frequently check the resistance of the air filter, and clean and maintain it regularly to ensure proper operation.
